Camp Kesem Supporting Children of Parents with Cancer

We are Camp Kesem and we believe that all children facing a parent's cancer deserve to fully experience the joys of childhood and be their best selves. We offer an entirely free, one-week summer camp in the Berkshires as well as other year-round programming in the Boston area. We use the campsite of Camp Mahkeenac, which is on the shores of Stockbridge Bowl Lake in Lenox, MA. This summer, our camp runs from Sunday, August 11th to Friday, August 16th.

 Fisher Hill Multi Use Athletic Field

Come learn to play Ultimate! This program is designed for children in grades 3-5 who want to learn and improve their fundamental frisbee skills while making new friends. Coaches will lead players in drills, games, and activities that prioritize throwing, catching, and running. Some time will also be devoted to scrimmaging. Each player will receive a disc.

Racial Justice Candidate Forum on Monday, April 7, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Brookline Town Hall. We're inviting candidates for the Select Board and School Committee to share their personal experiences, articulate their policy positions, and provide concrete solutions to advance racial equity in Brookline.

Self-injury is more common than people realize, affecting individuals of all ages and backgrounds. That includes adolescents here in Brookline, who often secretly self-harm as a coping mechanism for emotional pain, stress, or feelings of numbness. It is not just a phase or attention-seeking behavior but a real problem for many. In recognition of March as Self-Injury Awareness Month, B-PEN’s Mental Health page offers helpful self-harm resources if you know or suspect someone may be struggling.
