Brookline Youth Baseball Spring 2022 Registration

Brookline Youth Baseball (BYB) registration is open for this spring. BYB features an instructional league for ages 6-9 and a competitive league for ages 10-12. Come and learn the great game of baseball in a fun and supportive environment! There is an early bird registration discount available through February 1; registration closes on March 21. SEPAC IEP for Home Parent Workshop Series Continues through March

Thanks to a very generous collaboration with the Office of Student Services, the IEP for Home Parent Workshop series will continue through March! SEPAC is able to offer free, confidential 90-minute group Zoom sessions with Developmental Pediatrician Dr. Erik Von Hahn.
Children's Beginner Fencing Classes at Harvard

Daria Schneider — the head coach of Harvard fencing and an alumna of Lawrence, BHS, and Columbia, in addition to being a freelance theatre troupe member at Heath back in the day — is starting a beginners fencing class for children ages 5-7 and 8-10 (group separated by age for skill instruction) at Harvard on Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30.
The sessions start January 4th and run for 6 weeks straight and a beginner two class will follow. The cost is $295 and includes equipment rental. Registration is available at: crimsonfencing.com and for more info contact crimsonfencing@gmail.com.

‘Tis the season for connecting with family and friends, but pandemic concerns mean holiday celebrations will probably be smaller, quieter affairs. With all of us experiencing some sense of loss, Brookline Parent Education Network (B-PEN) urges families to acknowledge that and take care of each other — slow down, encourage students to wind down from the academic pressure, and take advantage of what Katherine May describes in her book “Wintering” as the power of rest and retreat. (Here’s an excellent podcast that could make for a meaningful family listen.) B-PEN wishes you all a happy, safe holiday season!

Please join the Brookline Parents Organization on Sunday, December 12 from 7:00-8:30 pm for a presentation and conversation with Brookline parents and renowned experts Dr. Ola Ozernov-Palchik (Faculty Director of Harvard Graduate School of Education's Mind, Brain, and Education program) and Miriam Fein (MS, CCC-SLP) as we explore the science of the reading brain's development, and the implications for evidence-based literacy instruction in general education curriculum.
