From 10/26-10/30, the Scholastic Book Fair will be returning to the Hayes Library. It is a very exciting time! I am hopeful that a few volunteers can help on the busier days.

What do volunteers do?

On the set-up day (Friday 23rd October 11 a.m. ~1:30 p.m.): Moving tables, chairs, furniture, carts of books; putting out decorations and book displays; tidying and facing up stock; getting it ready for the afternoon staff preview. This is quite physical and can be hard work!

During Book Fair: Some times will be very busy and some will be quiet; assisting children with finding things, making choices, understanding their money and sales tax, restocking, straightening up, monitoring etc. I will do all the cash register business, so you won't need to worry about handling money or the register.

On the shut-down day (Friday 30th October 11:30 a.m. ~1:30 p.m.): Packing it all up, moving boxes, furniture, chairs; resetting the library to normal. Like set-up, this is quite physical and a good workout! It goes much more quickly than set up!
